Medical opinion, research and studies increasingly acknowledge
the importance of diet for general wellbeing and many specific health
conditions. A healthy balanced diet has been identified as a key
factor for physical wellbeing.
Most doctors, dieticians and Nutritionist when asked to advise
on weight problems would recommend a healthy balanced diet, but
how to implement this without their knowledge of food has not been
easy to explain, until now.
Make today the first day of the rest of your healthy life. Don't
put it off until tomorrow. It really is simple! With the easy to
use Traffic Light Diet you will be able to clearly understand the
balance of the food you are consuming and adjust it quickly and
easily.
It is impossible to go from being a total wreck to being a health
fanatic overnight, but by making some fundamental changes such as
healthier choices when selecting your daily menu, you will make
significant improvements quickly.
Some small adjustments in your diet will pay dividends for your
health. Start by following these simple steps:
Eat all of your 5-a-day fruit, vegetable and salad portions.
Monitor and regulate your daily intake of energy (calorie), fibre,
sugar, sodium (salt) and fat.
Where possible use wholemeal bread, wholemeal pasta, brown rice
and whole wheat cereals.
Restrict red meats such as lamb and beef to twice a week.
Eat oily fish at least twice a week (salmon, tuna, mackerel, sardines,
herrings, pilchards, kippers - tinned are fine) and eat white fish
or chicken.
You should think of your '5 a day' green foods as preventative
medicine. Get into the habit of looking after yourself.

“I have been using the Traffic Light
Diet to maintain a healthy diet. Even though I was not overweight,
I was very unhealthy. The visual idea is great; you just glance
at the cupboard to see if you have eaten your 5 greens and ticked
off your 7 glasses of water. All the calculations are already done
for you so you don’t have to weigh or measure anything which
is great for me as I work full time!”
